Here, football means kicking, boredom, and 1-0 games
Holy shnikes, I just quasi-watched the most exciting NFL playoff game I think we will see for awhile. Pittsburgh jumped out to a 21-3 3rd quarter lead over the host Indianapolis Colts, but the Colts struck for an early 4th quarter touchdown, and after forcing a punt, scored another touchdown to pull within 21-18. They forced another Steeler punt, but after getting the ball at their own 18, turned the ball over on downs at their own 2, seemingly ending the game. Pittsburgh got the ball back, and since Indy had all its timeouts, had to run a play. This proved to be disastrous, as Pittsburgh's Jerome Bettis fumbled, and the Colts ran the ball back to their 40. Some quick passes brought the ball into field goal territory, with the chance to tie the game. But Mike Vandejagt, one of the game's best kickers, missed a managable 46-yard field goal to seal the Colts' fate, 21-18. Wow. And I was only watching online.
And... that's about it. No news up at the yeshiva. The Twenty Kashias are due tomorrow. What else, what else...
Ah, we can roll out the birthday bandwagon! Talya Goldfinger, you're eighteen! Let's sing!
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to Talya,
Happy birthday to you!
